Otgon, 20
Renchinkhumbe, Mongolia Otgon had just graduated from the little high school in Renchinkhumbe. She told me that her grandmother was a shaman but that she herself does not believe in their power. If she gets sick, she will travel over 100 miles to see a doctor instead of going to the local shaman. Most of the people in the area are Darkhad; however, it is only the older people who continue to have an animistic world view and honor the work of the shaman.
