Nolina 24, Seneyia 7 mos.
Lesirikan, Kenya Nolina had just walked eight miles from her home to the only well in her territory. She made the journey in 100 degree plus temperatures with her three young daughters, four cattle, and six goats. The trip, which she makes three times a week in order to get the water that sustains her family, is a social occasion for all. The well is a gathering place where the women visit and the children play while waiting their turn to get water.
