Njasunyers, 7
Ndoto Range, Kenya Njasunyers had just walked 12 miles with her camels to get water at one of the few wells in her territory. The well, five feet in diameter and 60 feet deep, requires nine people standing inside the well on ledges -- one above the other -- to pass the water up to the surface. Although only seven years old, Njasunyers makes the journey three times a week carrying water back to her family in several one-gallon gourds.
