Mt. Nyira, Kenya Shortly after he turned 16, Loboin became a Samburu moran, or warrior. His transformation from boyhood began with a grueling forty-day walk across the perilous Chalbi desert and ended with his circumcision ceremony. Loboin is now entrusted with guarding and caring for his family’s only means of survival--one camel, 11 cattle and 19 goats.
