Pit River, Irian Jaya Yoni and her cousin Setina spend most of their day farming the family sweet potato garden. Although a school built by the Indonesian government has just opened in their village, they have no plans to attend. Tuition is very expensive for them, and it is well known that even if they graduate, because of discrimination the few jobs available in Irian Jaya will be given to Indonesian immigrants instead of indigenous people like themselves.
