Elias
Wesagalep, Irian Jaya Elias is considered to be the strongest warrior in his village. Although most of the ritualistic battles between the tribes have stopped, his tribe still fights over the right to pick coconuts in the jungle. Elias has numerous scars on his body from spear and arrow wounds. When I first met him, he was out searching for a center pole for his kitchen house. His wife was expecting their first baby at any time.
