Kokuban, Irian Jaya Ekeba had walked two days over very rough terrain to trade her sweet potatoes for candles and matches at the Wemena market. She is the fourth and youngest wife of her relatively wealthy husband -- he owns 25 pigs. Like most Yale women, she spends 12-14 hours a day cooking, collecting firewood and working the garden.
