There is an ancient myth that, if a butterfly tastes the nectar of wine it creates eternal life. In this picture Michael Godard painted the grapes chasing after a butterfly with a butterfly catcher because that butterfly tasted the nectar of wine. The grapes believe if they catch the butterfly they will have eternal life. Also notice the grape by the base of the glass that is searching for the cork that is hiding behind the bottle. The grapes are keeping an eye out for the cork because the cork seals the fate of the grapes in the bottle!
