Todd KrasovetzTodd Krasovetz was born in 1970 in Frankfurt, Germany and had a remarkable career at a young age. Krasovetz has been a professional painter since 1997. Though internationally known and published for his realistic style of painting, Krasovetz' abstract style of work is remarkable, unique and one of a kind. His art influences can be tied back to the works of Sargent, Matisse, Van Gough and Pollock. The artist paints like Pollock by laying the canvas on the floor in a style he refers to as, ‘Event Painting.’ The difference is that Krasovetz uses gravity and develops his works through the acceleration of drying times of the oil paints which are splashed and infused together on textured canvas. This extraordinarily spontaneous process of painting results in a strong sense of motion and a living feel that is characteristic of the work. Krasovetz’ use of color is spectacular and complex; warm colors are layered and buried by transparent cool, hues that skim the surface layers creating both a translucent and metallic qualities. It is the combination of the style and process that drives his composition. The energetic, forceful control of the paint is never contrived but is instead, very organic and natural. These works are like a rhythmic score of music evoking a sense of power, tempo, balance and sophistication. Publications: October 07, 2004: Branch Medical Clinic Newspaper. Bridgeport, CA.
