Alvar Suñol Muñoz-Ramos

Good art speaks to the world but reflects the artist's origins. In his own work, Alvar has endeavored to address the passions he believes are universal in the human community at the same time that he expresses the sensibility of his own culture, that of Catalonia. With recent exhibits acknowledging the importance of his work to the history of Catalan art, Alvar assumes a well-earned place among the region's other 20th-century greats:
